Continuing on with our exciting survey of execrable Canadian supergroups and one hit wonders, we have everybody's favorite leopard-print wearing musician, Aldo Caporuscio.
Aldo Nova is what you might call a one-and-a-half hit wonder. Skip to the 1:20 mark of Fantasy to hear the actual song, the first minute or so is too painful to sit through.
Ball and Chain got a lot of airplay in Canada. They didn't do a very good job of synching the music to the video here. Again, skip the first minute to get to the song.
Foolin' Yourself made it on both the Canadian and US charts.
Finally, an Aldo Nova retrospective would be incomplete without an eyepatch and a black panther...

Oh yeah. I bought their 45rpm in '82ish. One of my first... (I grew up across the lake in Rochester and spent my summers in the Thousand Islands on the St. Lawrence).
Fantasy is one great piece of Canadiana cheese.
@Obiri ... True, Fantasy is all that, but you know that everything goes better with cheese, yes? :D Hold back the Night is also a great little mainstream metal song.
@ze bulette ... its interesting the amount of Cancon bleed-over that occurred along the border. Thousand Islands is one of those places I wish I could have visited in my youth.
Execrable? That's a bit harsh, especially considering what passes for pop-music these days.
In fact, I think I'm going to add Fantasy to my Covert Ops design soundtrack. I always write better with appropriate mood music.
@Sean ... agreed. Honestly, i'm unlikely to post a Canadian Band that I don't like, on some level. But I find good things about every rock genre.
I have a hard time believing that I may have danced to this in Junior Secondary School, but I am sure I did.
I would have been in middle school when this came out.
Jefferson Starship called, they want their song back ;)
