Saddened to hear of the passing of Nash the Slash. I'm sure he's in American heaven right now, playing his electric violin and partying hard.

I was hunting (again) for Nash The Slash's cover version of "We're An American Band" but I just can't find an adequate video.  So we'll have to settle for "Dance After Curfew" and Grand Funk Railroad's original version.

Split Enz: I Hope I Never

A while ago an old buddy of mine remarked how much I looked like Tim Finn from Split Enz. That reminded me of one of my favorite Split Enz songs, I Hope I Never. My other favorite is Iris.

Split Enz would later transform into Crowded House. Anyway, enjoy.

Canadiana: The Safety Dance

The Safety Dance is perhaps the most hated of all Canadian songs.

Performed by the French Canadian band, Men Without Hats, this song has been spoofed multiple times, by such shows as Futurama, Simpsons and The Family Guy.

This song is an endless well for lampoonery. Enjoy.

Canadiana: Honeymoon Suite

Honeymoon Suite is another 80's Rock Band that received plenty of airplay on Canadian radio stations, thanks to the CRTC Canadian content rules. If i'm not mistaken, 30% of all music played on canadian radio stations had to be Canadian. That percentage has since increased to 35%.

Bachman-Turner Overdrive played music for the generation that preceded mine.

It doesn't mean I can't enjoy them, but I suspect their music is more meaningful to that generation than to me or mine. I still crank up the volume when I hear them on the radio though.

Nash the Slash is the one wearing the fez, and wrapped entirely in bandages. That was intended to hide his true identity.
