Paladins Don't Just Rescue Damsels And Slay Dragons You Know

Paladins also have to mow the lawn. Here's another glorious day on the culdesac. What better way to spend your Sunday morning than to be out mowing and watering. Ah, the simple pleasures of adulthood and home-ownership!

The last time I posted a picture of the culdesac was back on December 5. I thought it would be worth posting another photo, to demonstrate that Calgary is not always gripped in the icy clutches of the Winter Warlock. We do get two weeks of summer every year.

Two weeks of summer! As it climbs to 94 today and will be in the 90s all the rest of this week that sounds pretty good.

I presume you and likeminded individuals regularly patrol you're cul de sac for the presence of evil humanoids? Can't be too vigilant.

Sadly, they have already invaded. We had a fifth-column allow them in.

The average daily high in Calgary in July is 76F (23C). Record high was 97F (36C). We actually have a rather mild (if somewhat dry) climate.

Its funny how similar your neighborhood looks to mine ... and I'm much farther south and west out in the glorious land of milk, honey and mormons ... lol.

Did you just shove the snow off to the side to get the picture?

That and green paint. Lots and lots of green paint.

@Lord of Excess: Lots of mormons, and milk and honey (if you count dirty oil as milk and honey) in Alberta. No surprise that it seems very familiar, but I live in a pretty whitebread neighborhood, not unlike what you are describing.

@BrutorzBill: I'm being a tad hyperbolic. Generally however, there are only two weeks of the year that one would need air-conditioning in Calgary.

@Aos: I would completely melt.

I was thinking the other day, we are having a very odd spring here in Calgary, with periods of warm, sunny weather followed by fairly heavy snowfalls (in May!). Then I remembered thinking the same thing last year and the year before.

As for AC, I never use it. A fan at night through most of July seems to be sufficient. On the other hand, when I lived in Montreal, I was a greasy stain on the sidewalk from mid-June to mid-September. I don't miss that.

I almost thought we'd get snow last night! Yes, I like our cool evenings. We don't have AC, so there are two weeks a year, where we we pull out the hide-a-beds and sleep in the basement where it's cooler.
