Miniatures Painting: Paint Brush Kickstarter

I make no apologies for pledging towards this Painting Brush Kickstarter.  It's being run by Games and Gears, who I understand are a reputable brush and hobby accessory company.

Having suffered through various attempts at painting miniatures using Citadel and other substandard paint brushes, I've finally decided to buy some decent paint brushes to see what sort of impact better brushes have on my painting results.

I've also pledged for some of the synthetic brushes and the paint brush stand that are being offering as add-ons.

If you are dissatisfied with your current paint brushes and are thinking of stepping up your painting game, you might want to check this Kickstarter out.

They look nice, but they also look similar to Winsor and Newton shorts, which aren't ideal for miniatures because the belly is too small to hold enough paint. This can cause the paint to dry too quickly on the brush and can inhibit smooth paint flow. I'm pretty enamoured with my Winsor and Newton Series 7 brushes, but I'd be interested in hearing how these Ichiban brushes work out for you.

These are being positively compared to the W&N brushes, reportedly the bristles on the Ichiban brushes are longer that the W&Ns.

I hope you'll let us know how they work out for you.

Did anyone anyone ask Games and Gears if they can even import sable brushes into North America with the Kolinsky Sable ban?
