Riddick 3

If you are not totally pumped about seeing this movie, I seriously question your dedication to science fiction horror.

  1. I saw the first but never the second. Been awhile since I've been to the movies. Avengers maybe was the last one. No, Iron Man. Anyway, it's fun to go see these things. Gotta start going more.

    Cheers and boogie boogie.

  2. It looks rough to me. The effects and direction seem pretty flaccid, undermining the suspense, and the action looks overblown and overly referential. I don't see much science fiction either. Call me lacking in dedication, but I'd say this isn't worth the time.

  4. I literally just saw it. It's okay. Basically a complete retread and knockoff of Pitch Black. Katee Sackhoff is topless for about two seconds, if you're really into her.

(I hope all the people who brought little kids to the theater enjoyed the full frontal nudity [not Katee], the slasher movie violence, and the lingering onscreen death of an animal. Rated R for a reason, guys!)

  5. Just question my dedication to Vin Diesel.

  6. There a lot more on earth under the sun than in the mind of the creators of science fiction. Does not come close to touching Herbert Wells either, read his short sci-fi/horror fiction sometime.

  7. You know this movie kind of worked for me. I enjoyed the sci fi survivalism (shades of Enemy Mine!) and the corny dialogue was reminiscent of 80s action flicks. Nothing groundbreaking but it made for a decent theater experience.
