Magic Realm: Day 2

During day two of our Magic Realm adventures, we once again use all four actions to move, past the Dragon's Lair, through the Dark Valley, and into Evil Valley.  Despite their fearsome names, the valleys are actually quite safe, particularly if you end your day outside of the occupied dwellings.


At the start of day 2, we roll a prowling monster roll of 3.  That means goblins and the Octopus are prowling today.  Since there are no wandering monsters in the valleys, my second day in the Magic Realm ends uneventfully.

  1. As I recall, the octopus hits the sweet spot of being both relatively strong and nearly impossible to run away from. Not that it matters this early in the game.

  2. You definitely want to hire a few henchmen before you tangle with the octopus. That way, you can throw a couple of henchmen at him while you try to line the octopus up for the kill.

  4. In real life, I suppose the dwellings would be safer. But this is the Magic Realm!
