The Illuminatus! Trilogy The anarchic British band The KLF was named after one of the secret societies from the trilogy. They released much of their early material under the name "The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu" (JAMs), also from the trilogy, and much of their work was Discordian in nature. They mirrored the fictional JAMs' gleeful political tactics of causing chaos and confusion by bringing a direct, humorous but nevertheless revolutionary approach to making records.
We'd go to the dance clubs of the day, and sweat off 15 pounds to songs like this.

The parties on my block tend to devolve into dance/hottub parties, and everybody "shows off" (among other things) their coolest and most underground tastes in dance music. Guess who wins? :D

Then pile on top of that: flying sparks from the guitar; cult-themed attire; post-acopolyptic scenery with a retro-train passing through it and over masonry bridges; dancing natives; flying police cars; synth-voices; rain-slickers; illuminatus pillars; relentless techno-beat; and smoke-machines. Can't you see this as perfect for some Rientian/Playing D&D With Porn Stars sort of campaign setting?

The first time I saw the video for this, it blew my mind.
You need to check out the KLF 'Justified Ancients' video with Tammy Wynette. The two priciples of the KLF in cult-robes, with curved horns sticking out from under their cowls. Absurd and chilling.
Check Doctorin the Tardis. The Timelords are the 2 guys from KLF. You'll notice in the video it's the same car as the KLF videos (especially 3am eternal)
Love the song. And being he ner that I am, I flipped out when I realized it was all tied back to the Illuminatus trilogy.

I love that tune. They were some weird dudes but they sure knew how to make great tunes.
