Seriously, do yourself a favor and read some of his stuff.<br /><br />https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_Brust<br /><br />The Taltos series is a major time investment at this point (albeit worth the effort) but standalones like Brokedown Palace, To Reign In Hell, Gypsy, or the shorter Khaavren series are more easily accessible and darned good.<br /><br />Might also take a look at the Liavek series of shared-universe fantasy stories, edited by Bull and Shetterly.
