He also adapted the concepts into a gaming supplement back in '78. The wiki article on it says it was published by Chaosium, but I think it was actually a supplement for Chivalry & Sorcery. There's a lot of material here for writers needing the groundwork for a magic system of their own.<br /><br />The most interesting interpretation of magic use I can remember comes from the Legends of Lone Wolf novels by John Grant.
