Canadiana: Honeymoon Suite

Honeymoon Suite is another 80's Rock Band that received plenty of airplay on Canadian radio stations, thanks to the CRTC Canadian content rules. If i'm not mistaken, 30% of all music played on canadian radio stations had to be Canadian. That percentage has since increased to 35%.

I was a D.J. at CHSK FM in 1985 and, thanks to the proliferation of great Canadian bands in the '80's I never had any difficulty making the 30% Can-con.

You've gotta love "Burning in Love," though it occurs to me that there were a lot of songs about burning love in those days. Songs of passion or subtle allusions to STDs? ;)

Considering that all the acts you've posted (including Honeymoon Suite) also received plenty of airplay on the West Texas album-oriented rock station I listened to as a teen, I think there must have been some rule that U.S. stations had to play at least 30% Canadian artists. :)

@Desert Scribe

The rule is known as "Quality Control" ;)
